Abstract:
Location of the sampling sites of the Nutrients and Chemistry monitoring Project of Macun.
Purpose:
The EAWAG has the overall responsability of the Macun Biomonitoring Projects (further partners: SNP, EIL, HYDRA), covering by themselfes the parts concerning nutrients and chemistry. The Macun lakes are hardly influenced by man, except for some hikers; the smal lake below the northern hut sometimes recieves some wastwater. the small catchment areas are composed of silcate rock. These are the reasons for that the lakes are barely buffered and poor in nutrients. A change in these conditions is only possible by nutrient contamination over the atmosphere.
