Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.
Location of catches for the Rapid Biodoversity Assesssment
Starting in the year 2000, 42 standardised trap stations were installed in managed (forest, agriculture) and unmanaged habitats all over Switzerland for collecting biodiversity data following a method known as Rapid Biodiversity Assessment (RBA). Each station consists of one flight and one pitfall trap, collecting flying and surface dwelling arthropods. The collected material is not identified to the species level, but sorted into 14 taxonomic groups and counted as morphospecies. In the Swiss National Park, two trap stations, operated on grassland and in the forest at Stablchod, yielded parallel trends for morphospecies numbers, showing two peaks in the «heat summers» of 2003 and 2005. In 2004 three additional trap stations were installed at different altitudes on Munt la Schera. There is no clear overall trend, but a clear increase on top of Munt la Schera. Three further trap stations were added in 2006 within Val Mustair, all above 1400 m. In their first year, 2006, they collected surprisingly high numbers of more than 400 morphospecies, comparable only to the most diverse trap stations in Southwest Switzerland.

Moss plot nr. 13 was destroyed 1960 during the construction of a water pipe for Hotel Il Fuorn. As a substitution, Ochsner established a transect with 5 plots close to Il Fuorn.
