The IVSs thematic data may be published or redistributed provided that the source is cited (http://ivs-gis.admin.ch). The sale of unprocessed data is prohibited. If the data is processed by the data user, the Federal Government shall be granted an unrestricted, royalty-free right to use and exploit the newly created user data, regardless of whether the user data is subject to copyright.

The Federal Inventory has not been updated since its publication in 2010. This applies both to the route alignments on the inventory map and to the descriptions of the inventorys features. Many of these descriptions date back to the 1980s and 1990s. Any changes to the traditional built heritage that have taken place over the last 25 years have not been incorporated. Furthermore, the technical data underlying the inventory is out of date, which is why incorrect data could no longer be corrected. From both a professional and technical perspective, there is therefore an urgent need for revision. The Federal Inventory is to be revised by 2035.

Die thematischen Daten des IVS dürfen mit Hinweis auf die Herkunft (http://ivs-gis.admin.ch) 
veröffentlicht oder weiterverbreitet werden. Der Handel mit nicht weiter bearbeiteten Daten ist untersagt. Falls die Daten durch den Datennutzer umgearbeitet werden, erhält der Bund ein unbeschränktes unentgeltliches Nutzungs- und Verwertungsrecht an den neu geschaffenen Nutzerdaten, unabhängig davon, ob es sich bei den Nutzerdaten um urheberrechtlich geschützte Daten handelt.

Seit seiner Publikation im Jahr 2010 wurde das Bundesinventar nicht aktualisiert. Dies betrifft sowohl die Streckenverläufe auf der Inventarkarte als auch die Objektbeschriebe des Inventars. Viele dieser Objektbeschriebe stammen noch aus den 1980er- und 1990er-Jahren. Gab es in den letzten 25 Jahren Änderungen an der traditionellen Bausubstanz, so wurden diese nicht nachgeführt. Zudem ist die technische Datengrundlage des Inventars veraltet, weshalb fehlerhafte Daten nicht mehr korrigiert werden konnten. Aus fachlicher und technischer Sicht besteht daher zwingend Überarbeitungsbedarf. Das Bundesinventar soll bis 2035 überarbeitet werden.

Si les données sont transformées par lutilisateur, la Confédération obtient un droit illimité et gratuit dutilisation et dexploitation des données nouvellement créées par lutilisateur, que celles-ci soient ou non protégées par le droit dauteur.

Linventaire fédéral na pas été mis à jour depuis sa publication en 2010. Cela concerne à la fois les tracés sur la carte dinventaire et les descriptions des objets de linventaire. Un grand nombre de ces descriptions dobjets datent encore des années 1980 et 1990. Les modifications apportées à la structure traditionnelle des objets ces 25 dernières années nont donné lieu à aucune mise à jour. La base de données technique de linventaire est en outre obsolète, ce qui a empêché la correction des erreurs. Dun point de vue professionnel et technique, il est donc indispensable quelle fasse lobjet dune révision. Linventaire fédéral doit être révisé dici 2035.
